Really liking that all white aesthetic for the keyboard. M1 chip on an iPad with XDR display, that's just insane. Great upgrade from my second gen 12inch iPad Pro, and sure a purchase from me. I use my iPad religiously for concept art creation and everything else, and that 12mp front facing camera for facetime/zoom calls is a welcome addition. Other aspiring tablet makers can just call it quits from hereon, they'll be light years behind esp with the rate M-chips have been advancing.
Too bad the 11-inch didn't get the XDR. Will be skipping this gen as the previous gen (as of a couple of minutes ago) 11-inch is still blazing fast for me. Other tablets were already DOA even before tonight's announcement, this is just the final nail in their coffin.
That white Magic Keyboard is calling my name! I just wonder how will it hold up against wear or yellowing with use.
I am on the fence between getting a mini and a new mbp. Is the M1 ipad pro a good alternative in replacing a macbook?
I am on the same boat. I guess we need to wait for WWDC if there is a remote chance the M1 iPad Pro will ran Mac OS. The thought of having it run iOS on tablet mode and switch to Mac OS when "docked" or connected to an external display is a game changer.
me too because M1 Mac's can run iOS apps now and at the same time can be a productivity machine for sideline
Silly me for not making that clear. I primarily will use it for website construction, writing content and light photo editing. I guess this is a silly question now right? The new iPad hits all the notes but can I just make it my work device and plug it to a monitor? This is my pain point.
I was joking with some friends on chat about how high iPad Pros are going to be for the 4/20 Apple event. Damn, I didn't expect it would be as high as this! But I'm impressed. A worthy upgrade for my 2018 iPad Pro which I plan to replace next year. I can hold on for a little while, hehe. Good thing the rumors of a new Apple Pencil for the 2021 iPad turned out to be false. Whew!
Whats the use of giving the iPad Pro the M1 chip if it will still run under iOS? i dont get the point. New chip, same old shit. (sorry for the word)
^ I guess we'll find out in WWDC this June when they unveil iPadOS 15. Remember we found out about iPad Pro's full potential in WWDC 2019 when they unveiled iPadOS 13.
If this will make way for Mac apps to be available on iPad Pro, I just might consider. Would surely want to have Final Cut Pro on iPad.
^ The big hint IMO is the fact that iPad Pros now have 1TB and 2TB storage options. I think there's more to it than just using those huge storage options as just a backup for all your media, even if you have lots of photos and videos.
